On Thursday July 23rd HMS Host workers at the Tampa International Airport voted in an NLRB election to be represented by Workers United. This is the first NLRB election by Workers United in the Southern Region, in the Florida District, and we were victorious.
Much thanks to all who assisted in this long campaign process. We welcome the HMS Host workers to Workers United as they look forward to negotiating their first contract.
Please save the date of September 26, 2009 for our Florida/Georgia district meeting where we will be conducting training classes, and having a dinner and dance at the Doubletree Resort on Kirkman Rd in Orlando. Join us then as we welcome the Host workers from Tampa at this meeting.
